Seems fitting that Burning Man’s primary theme this year is that of the Rites of Passage, and that I am making my way there in the coming weeks. Many things have been presenting themselves as challenges and rites in-and-of themselves as of late.
There are a number of different things I will be exorcising while present at the temple… primarily, most of it will consist of old emotional baggage; trappings that I needn’t bear any further hence. Memories and people I need to let go of, wishes and fantasies that need to burn-out and die, and pipe-dreams that demand to be broken. I’ll probably be a bit negative for a while, but hopefully I will be at a net-positive on the way back to the Default World.
New day, new challenges. New things to do at work, new problems to climb at the gym, new opportunities to re-invent the wheel… then re-invent myself. One day at a time, one step at a time… one breath at a time.
May the road rise-up to meet you, may the wind be at your back to speed you on your way, and may the sun warm you and light your way. Until next time.
